Was just Wondering what y'all opinion on this Emcee? I've heard a decent amount of songs from him like the traveling man I think it's called and miss fat booty and of course his verses on Blackstar but never bought any of his Cds how many does he have out 3 to 4? I guess you can say I've been Sleeping..

There was a time when Mos was at the top of the heap in my book. Black Star and BOBS were definitely both classics to me. But I can't disagree about him being over rated. As much great material as he had, the duration of his career casted a long shadow of questionable music with long bouts of silence in between. Shame if you ask me. Dude is still super talented but I doubt we'll ever hear it in the same fashion that initially drew me to his attention again. Ecstatic was the only other Mos album that grabbed me aside from his early work.

Black on Both Sides and Ecstatic are the only solo's of his worth a shit. Obviously his Black Star material is top shelf.

Stopped caring for him when he started acting and was on Chappelles Show..

Same with Talib who went all political and weird..

All I know is in 10th grade I was bumping Blackstar, black on both sides, Reflection Eternal year after that for sure..

Dj Honda Traveling Man was on an old mixtape i did haha.

Mos was killing everything during his rawkus run. He could do no wrong those couple years. Put quite a catalog together. Blackstarr still gets heavy rotation from me. Probably the goat conscious rap album.

...black star was mad overrated back then ... brand nubian's "foundation" minus the pop tunes has much more replay value ... mos def had some bright moments on "black on both sides", "the new danger" and "the ecstatic", but he's always been inconsistent on his albums ... yet he's been one of the very few who are able to cross over without sounding cringy...
