I am making the rounds everywhere I can to expose the scam that MF Doom tried to run in California this past week. I went to his show in SF at the Independent and it was a circus. Someone with Doom's mask took the stage but it was clearly not Victor as this dude was a little shorter and had no sign of the pot belly that Doom has (and still had when I checked out his NY Rock the Bells performance on YouTube.) This impostor tried to lip sync through the set, but people started to catch on quickly and the "performers" just cut out after less than 20 minutes. I thought it was strange that the management at Independent announced before "Doom" took the stage that there was to be "no cameras, video, or cell phone cameras of any kind". This is standard, but it's never been announced so adamantly. Team Doom was hoping to pull a fast one. They did this in L.A. a few days before coming north to SF. I have lost all respect for MF Doom. He is now Milli Vanilli to me. But at least those jokers showed up and danced! This dude was probably still partying in New York while his entourage tried to cover for him and collect the money. To be fair, everyone should really wait until somebody TRULY knows what happened...if the guy is sick or something, whatever..shit happens..still doesn't explain the impersonating and shit... The only way he can truly save his rep is if it was him and he had some fucked up throat issues last minute or something. I went to a show last week with Abdominal headlining (pretty respected in Toronto and UK)...the guy played for NINE people...5 of which were in the group that played directly before him!!! That's how much he cares about his fans (all four of us lol).

This isnt the first time DOOM has tried this, I remember a few years back he was suppose to do a photo shoot for XXL or the Source or somthing and he sent some other cat wearing his mask to take the photo's instead of him. Ok I started this post so let me try to bring it to an end. I was pissed that Doom tried to run a scam last Wednesday night in SF. I dont know if he's sick, dead, or just doesnt give a shit, but he had the option as a professional to cancel his show if he was unable to make it. Dont treat us like suckas (especially in the Sucka Free!) Now that Ive had a few days to calm down and do some research on his bio, etc. I have come to realize that this is actually an interesting story. He fell off the earth before between like 93-97 after KMD fell apart. Then he gave birth to Metal Face and all these alter egos and has never been photographed without the mask ever since. He really is like a comic book character and this is just the latest edition in the series. Where is MF Doom? Who's behind the mask? What will become of Viktor the Slikstor? I must agree though, it is a great way to market. Mufucka gets paid no matter what.
