.....but dude grinds hard with real dope mc's/producers....and has a great ear for beats. he's also done quite a bit for underground hip-hop as a whole...whether good or bad i guess. one of the most influential underground cats there is. yeah, he's not the best mc out there....but he's made his mark on hip-hop, imo.

new track from his upcoming album....produced by psycho les...

vinnie paz - cheesesteaks

beat is dope as fuck

Say What You Want About Vinnie Paz As An Mc....

.....but dude grinds hard and is an upstanding Muslim.

I was going to fall all over myself agreeing with you Weatherman, you really blew this one...

Also, this song has been posted already.

Ya this Cheesesteaks ish was dope. Rap sucks live? Well I dont listen to pop rap crap like you bro only #REALHIPHOP so um ya.

I have to say I LOVE JMT. Not a fan of all the homophobia but Paz is ill. I saw them with Non-Phixion in Tuc yrs ago and they where ill but I saw them again at a bigger venue w/RA and they where terrible. Str8 booty. Didnt even finish their set.

LOL, I've seen all kinds of performances from the best Rock, Punk, Jazz and Classical performers around but some of the best shows I've ever seen have been hiphop. Some of you need to get out more and maybe see someone other than your favorite cookie cutter MC perform.

co-sign WM. If 10% of these clowns rapping had Vinny's ear, hiphop would be a better place here in the UG. The new track is dope as fuck.

I try to check everything that might be remotely good out that I can. I'm usually disappointed but the few gems I learn about from here are worth it.

I haven't picked the album up yet but what I've heard was pretty good and I'm glad Hiero is stepping back up lately. I plan on getting that, the Pep Love and Casual releases from this year but been so busy and not had a chance to stop at a decent record store lately to buy anything. I'm looking forward to the new 3030 too but honestly, I wasn't as into the first one as some of you even though it was a quality album. I just like the more "down to earth" topics he had before that album came out and that was around the time I thought Hiero was kinda falling off by releasing too much filler material. Hiero was pretty much my favorite crew for a while up to 3rd Eye Vision, which was on constant replay for years but I think the last real quality release from them was Ascension until recently.

i hear you...i was playing 3rd eye vision this morning....that album is amazing.

did you ever check the del/tame one album a couple years back? that shit was very dope and one of the better recent heiro releases. really feelin the new del though. one of the select few legends still sounding dope today, imo.

Yep, when that Del/Tame One album came out, I mentioned that it was the best I heard from either of them in years. That was the beginning of the Hiero reemergence to me. Now if Tame gets back with El Da Sensai for some new Artifacts shit, things will be back on track.

I guess Casual has been consistent on the mic but I just didn't like his releases after Meanwhile... very much.

By the way, sorry to go off topic on this Paz thread but at least it's a decent discussion about hiphop.

I know u guys are consumed with great beats and whatnot....but Vinnie was horrible on this cheesesteaks song. Its laughable now b...I always thought he was wack minus a few jedi mind tricks songs. But i only liked those songs cuz of the features like G rap, percee p, ra the rugged man, sean price, canibus lol

You never have to think "I wonder who made this beat?" neither cause that fat fuck name drops everyone within the first 12 seconds of every track.

I'm not as much of a Vinnie fan as I used to be but those early JMT records were dope, especially Violent By Design...I've seen him live a couple of times and met him, he seems like a chill person...

hh you need to peep Casual's "The Hierophant" and Souls of Mischief's "Montezuma's Revenge"...not to mention Opio's "Triangulation Station".

Hella good releases from Hiero since 3rd Eye dude! And Tajai's "Power Movement REMIXES" too.

Thanks, Suplexmachine...I got all that and those mostly came out recently when they started getting better again...still not really amazing stuff but I liked a lot of tracks on them. I mentioned when Montozuma's Revenge came out that it was the best I've heard from Souls in a while.
Other than that, my favorite things to drop from the crew during their "down time" are the Tajai/SupremeEx projects.

Track is dope as fuck.

A lot of people dont like Paz cause he is formulaic. Because he is a "pseudo-intellect".

The fact is he has birthed an entire generation of underground rappers

Always been a fan. Its also cool to seem him grow as an artists and move away from the old JMT formula into different production and topics
