posted Thursday, June 28, 2012 12:03:39 AM Myka definitely doesn't dwell on any particular style for too long and always comes with something fresh, positive message in the song.
Took a couple listens to adjust my ears to it, but I'm feelin it now.
Gotta stay open minded to vibe to Mike. Good post.

posted Thursday, June 28, 2012 1:43:27 PM I loved that 1969 album from a couple of years ago. My question is, will Myka have a physical release for this one? There wasn't a cd release for his album last year so I never purchased it. I don't mind MP3-only releases, but I'm not going to pay for it.

posted Thursday, June 28, 2012 3:11:35 PM Yeah, SPillwon..that's part of why I like Myka's work so much...you can tell he puts a lot of thought and effort into his rhymes and always gives you something unexpected but good..stuff you never thought you'd like because you never heard anything like it until you do hear it.
There should be a physical release for this one since there was for the 1969 and Fake Four and Factor specifically sought him out for this project. Mykology was an older project that was done a while ago but got pushed back until they finally just released it however they could. Should still be a physical version coming at some point when they get around to it.

I never said I don't like BSBD...they do some good work. I'd love to hear them do an album with Myka.

oh alright...he's on their roster on the front page which was why i asked...they seem to have a pretty diverse/eclectic group of artists on the label.

oh aight my bad....well if you talk to myka (which i assume you know him, again my bad if you don't) tell him to make that happen. i'd love to see what could be cooked up out of that pairing.

posted Thursday, June 28, 2012 4:13:57 PM Yeah, I was at his moving party a couple weeks ago...I'll talk to him about it next time I see him.
I checked out their website and it looks really cluttered...they have different artists listed in different areas. I see they have Substance Abuse and Open Mike Eagle included too. I was listening to the Thirsty Fish album the other day and he had some nice lines on that...Better than the other solo album he put out a couple years ago. I'm going to have to check their projects out too.
