If it says story by Rza, screenplay by Rza, and directed by Rza.
Then why does it say presented by Quentin Tarantino?

so the studio could back it up and he probably backed it up with money so it can be produced.

^yeah thats was i was thinking aswell.. Plus, if Quentins name is on it, i think it just gives the RZA a lil more weight behind him..

Thanks P8NTBALL, i try and do my part around here..

it says 'presented by Quentin Tarantino' for the same reason all those shitty wu-affiliate albums say 'presented by Wu-Tang'

i.e. so more people check it.

Quentin tarantino produced the movie. So he was basically the guy that got rza and all the actors on board with the movie. I can't see Russell Crowe and some of the other actors jumping up to be in rzas first ever movie without tarantino being involved.

I hope this isn't a failure. RZA is one of the worst actors I've witnessed to date so I pray he doesn't fuck his roll up too bad. Make note: watch his hands and arm movements during a scene where he has nothing in his hands, painful.

This shit also derailed Liquid Swords 2 so it better be fucking great. Hopefully QT had more to do with it than just his name jizzed on the cover though.

LSII is a far cry away from being released, its not fully RZA's fault. GZA has CHOSEN to 3 OTHER albums before LSII. Dark Matter, his space themed album, after he wants to do a ocean water themed album and finally wants to release Liquid Swords 1.5. A re-creation of LS without the RZA instead using a live band (Think Will Sessions & Elzhi) with GZA repreating his LS lyrics. Think how far away youll see LSII....

I don't think it's gonna be too good, but it might be pleasant surprise.
I'm more excited about "Django Unchained" by Tarantino, starring RZA.

He's gotten better at acting but I think this is his first time ever directing an entire movie on his own. Actors with the resumes like Russell Crowe and others in this movie probably don't jump at the chance to star in somebodys first movie unless somebody like Quentin Tarantino is helping organize the whole thing.

The cast isn't exactly A list...Batista, LOL. Russel Crowe hasn't done shit worthwhile in years. I think I might be pleasantly surprised by this though, at least I'm hoping. I'm a sucker for old Kung Fu flicks and Cung Le is a badass (even though he got his ass kicked recently).

Looks like ur right. Heres what Russell Crowe said about why he signed on to do the movie.

"Bobby’s been a martial arts enthusiast his whole life and Universal has given him a $20 million budget to live out his martial arts fantasy,” he noted. “He’s come down to Australia and done various favours for me, including some connected to Souths [Crowe’s rugby league team in Australia] Imagine that the team walks into the studio and RZA from Wu-Tang Clan is there to teach them how to rap. You have to repay the favours in life, you know. So when ‘The Man With the Iron Fists’ came up, I accepted it. It’s an opportunity for me to have fun.”

Eli Roth co wrote the movie as well so you know it's gonna have some bloody ass scenes throughout the whole movie.

Studios throw Tarantino's name around to sell kung fu movies or Asian movies in general...They did that with the Dragon Dynasty DVDs and they did that with the Oldboy DVD...Also, Eli Roth is a producer and screenwriter and Tarantino is his boy (and RZA and Tarantino are cool as well)...

Definitely worth checking out.

I know Rza had nothing to do with the production of it but Ghost Dog was a dope movie.

Yea Liquid Swords 2 won't probably ever see the light of day. The difference between LS2 and OBFCL2 was that Raekwon seemed more motivated to make that shit happen than either Gza or Rza seem with LS2.

Nobody in the Flick does Kung-fu? I thought Michelle Yeoh does, remember her in Jet Lee Ficks. One of them was Tai-Chi.

And RZA aint that bad in acting, recently checked Californication season 5 and he wasnt that bad besides Meagan Good.

Yes she does, but thats not her, its Lucy Lui!

That Raid joint looks kinda dope.. I know im playing myself for this, but i dont tend to watch the modern Kung Fu joints very often, i pretty much stick to the period style ones.. I know the new style ish be crazy and all, but it just something about the campiness of the old school joints..

LOL at "Dark Matter, his space themed album, after he wants to do a ocean water themed album"

The movie looks cool though. Russel Crowe is hardly b-list. And Jamie Chung is hot.

Gonna have to check out The Raid, Observe.

My point exactly...Watch the movie and tell me it's not a B-Movie. You can't because it is.

This RZA movie might be different (hopefully) but you can tell everyone in Haywire was in it for a quick paycheck.

Dowloading The Raid right now... first decent post from observe in ughh history.
Co-sign the curse of the golden flower being a noice/epic Chinese movie - not really a martial art movie tho.

Anyway you gotta mention this skilled fucker right here. I think he shiiits on every other martial stuntman.
The good news is he stopped his monk interlude (2 years of meditation seems to be enough) and is back on track for Revenge of the Warrior – Tom Yum Goong 2

Ong Bak 2 had one of the best sequences I've seen...When he goes up the tower and beats everyone in his way down...all shot in one continuous take with no edits.

Greasy Im not sure which version of “Born to Fight” you mean cause I have seen that thai move and its from 2004. Yet Ong-Bak came out in 2003
and I even have a movie of a very jung Tony jaa from 2001: Nuk leng klong ya (where he has a secondary role but is already killin it)

Yeah observe, Old boy is dope as fuck, that’s why It won at Cannes ...and I saw this john woo classic too.

A few weeks ago I watched Jet Lis Kiss of the Dragon again and It really has dope sequences.
