that record is a flat out classic....one of the best jersey records of that era for sure....tame and el just brought a nice, dope raw style over head nodding beats.
well done = 8.5/10 grandmasters = 7.5/10 i phantom = 7/10
well done was the best of these 3, imo. best production, best vibe, maybe the best mc'ing too (since gza sounded sleepy as fuck on grandmasters). i've never been a big fan of mr. lif, but appreciate what he did on i phantom at least. it was solid when it dropped. grandmasters, i just remember, should have been a lot better. i actually liked the remixed version of the album, for some reason, over the original.Partial IP: 159.192.10 |

Lif is a dope emcee and likes to focus on societal issues and family dynamics. His subject matter gets a little tiresome though. The production on this is sort of bleh, doesn't do much. The El-P beat on "Success" and the Insight beat on "Iron Helix" are fucking dope though. I'd say there are 5 good songs on this. - - 7.8/10
Grandmasters - Really dark and dreary mood to this entire album. "Destruction of a Guard" and "Advance Pawns" are bangers. On the whole the beats are solid but there a only a few standouts. GZA does his thing but does lack some vigor. - - 8.1/10
Between a Rock and a Hard Place - Some grimey east coast shit. I've always liked That's Them more more though cuz the production hits a little harder. There are some dope joints on this though. "Wrong Side of da Tracks" is amazing. "Wassup Now Muthafu-ka" is a classic beat. I can't say it is perfect all the way through and there are some mediocre songs imo. Not a classic album but real good for sure. - - 9/10
Well Done - This shit just knocks man. Great beats and entertaining rhymes. One of the better albums I've heard from the past several years. "Cirque Du Soleil" is so fucking dope. - - 9.3/10Partial IP: 54.166.243 |

Totally on point about That's Them being better though.Partial IP: .68.230.74 |
