I'm only 5 tracks in, but so far I think its pretty good. Production is dope, especially for him producing the whole thing himself. Sort of reminds me of labor days with the word play.

He definitely isn't for everyone. But, I wouldn't go as far to say he is boring. He is like no other artist when it comes to rappinng. But to each their own. I think this is better than his last couple albums.

"Daylight" might not have aged well for you but for some of us that shit is a personal anthem that has helped them through some fucked up times and it's a great track with dope lyrics and timeless production...at least to me.

ya i dunno sometimes i love it sometimes its just cheezy

it is a goat track but its just a lil corny

also part of my problem with it is the same as with all aes joints. it just doesnt have much actual substance.

Just listened to "Battery" last night. Probably one of my all time favorite Hip Hop songs. I miss Ace spitting over that old Jazzy shit. It offered such a great juxtaposition to his cluttered vocals and frantic flow.

Now dude is rapping over beats that are pretty much the equivalent of his flow. It's literally a case of "too fucking much going on in the song". That being said I'll support this release, as I have all his other albums.

never liked a whole album fro maesop rock just a song or two here or there, but on the rhymesayers page on youtube. they had a series going of aesop breaking down each song on this album, and some songs I kid you not, are about him getting a fucked up haircut or turning his pet cat into a mummy. The beats on this bang though Im not going to lie, especially zz top, crows 1, and cycles to gehanna (sp) being my fav track on this period.

Wicked shut up bro...listen to ZZZ Top and you might actually be surprised if you don't feel this because it's "nerd" rap then you are a herb basically, I am willing to be that you have missed out on a lot of dope shit because it doesn't fit into your criteria, I'm with you on the pop rap bullshit but hating on Qwel and Aesop is stupid.

^does having a lot of Filipino friends and being the only white guy in the crew make you Hip Hop?...does scratching like you are retarded make you Hip Hop?...does telling people how much MP3s suck yet begging people to download your mixes ON MP3 make you Hip Hop?

^Jaz, since when do I beg people to download my mixes? When ON AVERAGE my mixes get 300-600 downloads, do you really think I'm beggin people? haha Get real, br0! I'm always tryin to get new people to peep the mixes cuz usually it only takes one to get people interested. I make dope mixes that focus on the MUSIC and not me the DJ so of course I want people to listen cuz of the music. C'mon, son!

MP3's suck in the sense if you're REPLACING vinyl & cd's with lame mp3's. If yoar someone who chooses to have an mp3 of somethin you can buy on vinyl then yoar a certified fAGGIT! You know this already. Stop playin dumb.

And I'm not no Qbert or Revolution on the scratch tip, but I can hold my own.

ahhh since when you post like 10 of them all at once and I have a question for you DelUded22...are artists that send DJ's MP3's certified fAGGITs?...are DJ Premier and Afrika Bambaata certified fAGGITs because they use Serato and MP3s at gigs sometimes?.

Are people that buy and own CD's AND MP3's certified fAGGITs?

You live in your own World Shaun, you really do and you must be mad rich because not everyone is a yuppie rich fuck like you and can BUY every record and CD on the market...if you are so anti-MP3 (and this will get ignored yet again)...then distribute your mixes as tapes and NEVER USE MEDIAFIRE etc again because you deluded and idiotic hypocrite if people download your mixes ON MP3 then you are essentially calling them certified fAGGITs.

Why can't your thick skull comprehend this?

I like Aesop Rock a lot but no one can deny the below verse is nerdy as fuck. you don't just sit there and come up with that shit, this takes a lot of scripting! I'll hold my hands up, reading through it quickly I don't understand a lot of it

Yyo...
Put one up for shackle-me not clean logic procreation
I did not invent the wheel, I was the crooked spoke adjacent
While the triple-sixers' lassos keep angels roped in the basement
I walk the block with a halo and a stick pokin' your patience.
Y'all catch a 30 second flash visual
Dirty cooperative med platoon, bloom, head-trip split ridiculous
Fathom the splicing of first generation fuck-up with trickle-down anti-hero smack--
Crackin'!
I pace me game for zero hour completion greetin' splash
Duke of early retirement, pick a dream, American nightmare hoggin' the screen
--I'll hold the door open so you can stumble in
If you'd stop followin' me 'round the jungle gym.
Now it's Honor and I spell it with the H I stole from Heritage
Merit crutch stolen wretched refuse of my teaming resonance
I promise: temperance towards breed with a leaning conscious
See, the creed acts sense responsive, but my sports supports the wattage, and I'm sleeping now! (Wow!)
Yeah, the settlers laugh,
You won't be laughing when your covered wagons crash!
You won't be laughing when the buzzards drag your brother's flags into rags!
You won't be laughing when your front lawn is spangled with epitaphs! You won't be laughing!
And I'll hang my boots to rest when I'm impressed
So I triple knot 'em and forgot 'em.
This origami dream is beautiful, but man, those wings'll never leave the ground without a feather and a lottery ticket,
Now settle down.

labor days was dope. if you couldnt like that album for the beats alone then idk.

i get the not liking Aesop because i'm not really a fan of him as an mc for the most part either.

this new album is bleh, generic Aesop type of shit but without the great production.

Just got through the album last nigh. Really diggin the production. Lots of quirky, interesting beats mixed with some hard drums.

Not really digging Aesops voice that much though. His rasp has gotten out of control. Kind of annoys me to be honest.

I liked that song about the dog pulling the kid from the water. Aesop is mad underrated as a story teller

Public school districts are not going to be that much different across the nation.

Teachers in L.A. make from 38K-to over 100K depending on all sorts of factors.

Brand new teachers start around 38K-44K.

So in this current educational and national budget crisis, they are giving you raises?
