... The most successful if still alive?

So just had a few cups of French blend coffee and listening to some big pun and I then thought of this topic post.

2pac would have had an empire by now, even his own label.

Pun would have been putting out wack albums like fat Joe.

ODB would be making a whole heap of money by appearing on pop music

Biggie would mostly be an r and b rapper using vocoders fucking with trap beats

Thoughts?

Pun for sure. He would have hosted a celebrity weight loss show on MTV and been on Oprah telling tales of his weight struggles in life.

If he was still living in 2011, he would have relasped and got fat again, only to be featured on Dr Drew celebrity rehab.

His son probably still wouldn't have much of a father.

Eyedea would still be making exactly the same records

EAZY would have sold ruthless to apple for a billion and cashed out, whilst running his own comedy film company

Do we think MC Shan would have gotten anywhere if hadn't been killed by BDP, I mean the man still lives, but MC Shan pretty much died.

Sup Blue? Just having a Folgers classic roast here double double. I would have loved to see Big L be successful with Flamboyant.

We'd really have to look at who was good at business.

Jay Z and Puffy make more from non music biz.

Alot of these dead rappers were wilding out to much.

Jay Z may be the best businessman in rap. It counts cause he managed to stay alive.

Pac would have fell off by now. Sure, Pac made some relatable tracks that are still loved today, but his death made him an icon and not just a phase. Alive, the younger generation wouldnt give a damn. Pac would be faded into the background by 2000-2003

ODB, he probably would continue to have on&off success with singles, but mostly still have the same status as the rest of Wu (legends but no more mainstream love)

He was a great actor as well. He probably would've went the Cube route where rapping would've taken a step back in favor of acting. He would've been bigger than Cube tho. The other dudes mentioned itt only had wrapping abilities so wouldn't have been nearly as successful.

Guru would still be working with Solar (hate it, but it's true). He would be dropping more solo albums with less and less of a fanbase. H3 would be like KRSOne, still doing it but getting no respect nowadays.

i think two that would have a interesting impact on (underground) hip hop if they were still alive, either directly or indirectly, would be sub-roc and camu tao

subroc - if subroc didn't die there's a chance that MF DOOM as a character would have never existed and he would have never had the influence that he did on so many hip hop artists. we might have gotten a few more KMD albums and then it's possible that he would have faded into obscurity after that

camu - his death is pretty much what broke the weathermen up and def jux in general, so if he was alive we would have gotten the finished version of king of hearts, multiple weatherman albums, def jux might still be a label, those artists might still be working together, and run the jewels probably wouldn't be a thing. also maybe despot would have released his album by now lol.

Clockworx is right it would be 2pac off of the strength of his acting alone. But he was always doing all kinds of other things writing screenplays, ideas for books, poetry,so he probably would have had his own production company,+he talked about becoming a restaurateur, was going to have his own record label, all kinds of stuff. He probably would have got into politics on some level (obviously he can't run, he's felon but he could still back somebody or a party).

The interesting one to me would be Eazy E just because he was light years ahead of everyone when it came to business and entrepreneurship.I'd imagine he'd have been the first billionaire rapper.

Most of the things you see rappers do are either following Eazy-E's blueprint or using 2pac's ideas

Biggie is ranked twice as 2Pac on Spotify is that means anything. Also I'm pretty sure he is the second highest dead person on Spotify which is pretty cool for a golden age rapper.
