^^ i wanted the omnibus on instock trades but it was significantly more, local comic shop was doing 25% off hardcovers yesterday. ive only read it digital so im really liking the recolor abd bigger pages.

if your still considering DMZ instock trades has the deluxe editions for about 20$ good deal for about 400 page books

nice, how much did you get it for? was it 25% off retail price or was it already marked down? if you want to get the other 3 absolutes off IST it would still be just as much as the two omnis lol, so unless you get a great deal on the other 3 you'd still be paying more overall. i prefer the absolutes though, they're much nicer.

i'm planning on getting dmz, i just don't know when. i've had it in my wishlist on ist and just haven't pulled the trigger, too much to read as it is so i'm going to wait until i'm actually in the mood to read it.

^just noticed they didnt have vol 1 though...

i hear you on the omnibus being cheaper to buy the full collection i just dont have the cash up front im fine with paying for all the absolutes individually. ist had the absolute for 60 wo shipping but not sure if its used. it was 100 at the comic shop but i paid 75 with the discount and didnt have to wait for it to be shipped

who doesn't have vol 1, IST? they've got vol. 1 of both the absolute and the omni. the absolutes are $58 on IST new, they don't sell used books on there. you 'll see books with a *damaged* tag though which will be significantly cheaper. usually those aren't even in bad condition either, might just be a slightly bent cover or a corner dent. i'll put it this way - i've never gotten a book from them that had more damage than i would have caused my first time reading it. also on IST all shipping is free on orders over $50 if you're in the US. because of that it's usually the cheapest option. $75 seems a little expensive to me but i guess it's worth it instead of having it shipped.

yea i know i paid extra but once i seen it i was sold, i was refering to DMZ vol 1 i dont see it on there but the other four are 17$..

i thought there books may be used because they have some that say damaged and the absolute seemed cheap so i thought maybe it was used, but good to know theyre all new. how long do you normally wait for shipping? i used to get my books on ebay and amazon but since ive found ist theyre almost always cheaper

ah okay i got you. yeah you're right, seems like the first DMZ book isn't on IST right now. could get it for under 20 with free shipping from one of the third party sellers on amazon though. i might just get the softcovers that have been coming out instead of the hardcover deluxe editions. only the first three have been released though, and the third just came out in march of this year. hopefully the other two will come out by the time i'm ready to read the series lol.

IST doesn't sell used books, they get them directly from diamond comic distributors. the books that are damaged are most likely just the ones with minor imperfections that aren't worth complaining about. i've ordered dozens of damaged books from IST and you can't even tell what's wrong with them unless you look closely. i've never understood how IST is able to sell books for as cheap as they do anyway, you could either get an omnibus at your LCS for $100 the week it comes out or get it on IST for $45. as much as i'd love to support my LCS, the choice there is obvious lol.

as far as shipping - usually if i order tuesday afternoon as soon as the new books get put on there, i'll get my books by monday the following week or even that saturday on some occasions. their packaging is also great, i've never gotten a book from them that looked like it had been damaged during shipping. amazon on the other hand fucking sucks for ordering these heavier books, at least from my experience. i've gotten books from amazon in the past that were just thrown into a box with almost no protection at all, and those books were more damaged than any of the "damaged" books i got from ist lol.

Amazon is defiantly hit or miss on their shipping, but I hope you guys are sending all that damaged stuff back for replacements. I'm sure you're, but I'm shocked sometimes that people either don't realize that they're entitled to send damaged products back for replacements or just simply settle for damaged stuff.

well if i'm ordering a book from amazon, it's most likely because i can't find it anywhere else. in that case it doesn't really matter, because i've sent books back to them before only for the replacement to suffer from the same problems, because they don't protect them during shipping. i've sent the same book back 3 times for a replacement in the past, and eventually i just got a refund and decided to avoid ordering comics from amazon entirely. it's a joke. IST has these foam blocks that conform to the shape of the books, which prevent them from moving at all or being damaged during shipping. i love those things, i even keep them to reuse when i sell books on ebay.

That's good even if it takes them 4 times to get it to you in good condition. They'll learn once they start losing money cause of shitty packaging. Also you can try to include some tips in your email to them on how to pack better.

i tried that the third time lol, nothing changed. i think they wrapped the book in one layer of bubble wrap, and it was still fucked up. i'm sure they've already lost money from this because i've seen hundreds of people complaining about it. it's whatever, i just don't order books from amazon anymore unless it's my only option.

Sp 90s- Does that Nightmare On Elm Street collection have a song by Tuesday called Running From This Nightmare?

I wanna say it was on 3 or 4. Want to sample it

Gino- you should make a thread discussing how we wanna handle the digging threads. Imo we should have youtube posts of the actual stand out songs off whatever album to make it more streamline, but at the same time we don't wanna end up with threads that are flooded with videos

For me personally, I dig more through youtube and spotify than actually going to the record store.. I know thats considered a no no but thats the reality of music nowadays and to me the music is more important than being a collector, even though i have the utmost respect to collectors like Sp 90s etc. Like when I sample something you have no clue if I own it or not, it boils down to how I chop, layer and drum it.

Just throwing out ideas. Of course I come from the era of record stores, listening to the record at the store... dollar bins and clearance bins and all that. Shit changed, nowadays you have whosampledit to see if somebody has used the sample or if you flipped it different etc

yeah, comic BOOKS, and sandman is a literary masterpiece fam

will do though 5th point, i haven't sold anything in a while because i like selling a bunch of books at once. it's just easier that way, less trips to the post office lol. i sold a bunch over the summer and made almost twice as much as paid for them initially. it's super easy to make money off some of these omnis, you get them on ist for 50-60% off when they first come out, and then you sell them for over cover price a couple years later.

pickups from the last month or so, finally got that akira boxset.
