2nd joint has kane, method man and rhymefest. the first one has a lame j live feature on a song that shoulda been just those djs he had on ther. but the first is good in its own way, just alot softer.

I didnt like many of the songs on these but the ones i did like are classics to me

For the love of the game
Musik lounge
Travelz
Charmed life

The definition
Hold it down
All i know-- fucking love this song

The influence/production of 2002 kev brown and oddisee make most of the songs i dont like on vol 1 completely listenable, great beats throughout that album.

^ this

and I would probably also go with the return of the magnificent by a short margin

Jazzy Jeff made some dope ass soulful shit. Sad that this kind of music has no audience anymore.

1rst one is a personal fav of mine. second boasted bigger guests but had less magic. everything about the first album was perfect for the time it dropped and where i was at in my life. by the time the second one dropped things changed and that whole j love/ a touch of jazz magic had faded a bit.

still coo and i did like vol 2 when i revisited recently

lol freddie foxx kollexion konnexion ? w preemo was so dope. i need industry shakedown again.

at gino, j-live was on a punchline high around the time this first one dropped right after hisbest album of all time, all of the above. at that point he was in my top ten emcee's right thru always has been and always will be then he lost it, idk what changed, but i think it was him producing more and not getting beats from dj spinna, jazzy jeff, etc. etc.

he needs good production or its a rap

his last album about selling water was one of the worst things ive got in the past 3 years. it was plain boring.

he was real dope live when i saw him bout 10 years ago.

i might just be biased because of j-live's involvement in the local hip hop scene here with beatshot but i'm a fan of pretty much everything he put out up until "how much is water". might also be due to the fact that ive seen him live a bunch of times. hes a great performer. i don't think i'm as big of a fan as i used to be but he's still got some great albums that i go back to often.

^ love this track

those dela albums from back then we're amazing

peace for posting that talib song the other day tip from the dela album. that was my fav track and i def made my own song to that beat and recorded a dusty version of it, but never took it to the real studio or recorded it properly. shit was classic tho. and if im not mistaken dela flipped that same sample on there that harry fraud used on riff raff & action bronson "bird on a wire" beat - first and better on that talib song imo
