i think its pretty decent. the wackest shit on there was (as expected) future, travis scott, and 2 chainz (jay rocks verse sucked, too). the best thing on their was probably the singers (khalid, sza, and all them other weird lil mouhfuckers)and kendrick. a couple newwer west coast sounding dudes did their thing, too (reason)

def an interesting soundtrack overall. from front to back despite the different styles that id describe as "for the kids" on a few of the rap songs, this def sounds more like an actual album (sorta like compton was)than a sounndtrack which I can appreciate.

best song : ab soul & anderson paak - ? cant remember song name ?

haha its not a no mask thing i get it. kendrick isnt the best to me, but i've always liked what he does. this isn't much different. the first song starts really cool then has a beat switch and he rambles off a lot of bars. not sure if there's even a point to anything he's saying on here, but he still makes it sound kinda cool lol

i swear he takes a slight jab at future on the track with future when he says something along the lines of i am not your future, not your message after future spits the worst verse of the year. is that his normal rap voice?? wtf lol

been meaning to check this out, even though there's a few artists on here i don't really care for. my expectations aren't too high but there will probably be a few songs on here i like. curious to see how/if it actually relates to the black panther movie.

i think you'll appreciate some of it tippi. not sure how it will relate, but i could def picture a few of these beats/songs playing in the movie like the one by kendrick/weeknd which will prob be a single if it isn't already. and the kendrick/sza joint which i dig. the intro leading into that is pretty cool and sets the vibe off nice for the album. it won't sound/feel like a soundtrack at all when you bump it. trust. a cool mix of west coast hip hop with some decent soul and even a dope late 90s sounding reggae/rap track for good measure (track 12 sounds like some buju banton/masta killa jr reid "stalleon" ish)

It has it's high points but as a fan of what TDE does, this isn't something I feel the need to purchase or go back to. I do like that a lot of the drum tracks have a clear African influence while remaining relevant to the popular market, but I can't say I liked this soundtrack. Maybe on the right day.
