i own a ton of damu cds. i just think for the most part those 3 guys are boring. damu is a cool dude. grap is watever and id honestly like to kno more about kev brown. but a 14 minute rap song is ridiculous, even 6 minutes today is insane.

...too bad today's rap listeners got the attention span of 10 year old kids ... to be honest, I don't think damu is the illest producer or he does anything groundbreaking but he definitely got skills ... of course, he has been influenced by pete rock or extra p as he's a scholar of 90s hip hop, but at least he tries to find new ways of creating hip hop tracks instead of just cloning techniques of mid-90s producers like most of those guys from europe ... it's kinda strange that you big up non-creative/technically sub-par stuff like illah dutch and fahim while you diss kev brown and damu...

I made this topic before you with the actual album title in the thread too. Some homosexual must have deleted it.

Hey hey what you say?

I d love to punch some degenerates in this thread in the face to "Burners", which can go toe to toe with any classic song any era.

Those are SP beats too...

Damu has some pretty different production techniques that make for a unique listen imo.

On the Y Society record he was panning two different Drum Breaks to opposite channels L/R in the same song. Then still had other hits/claps coming through the center of the mix. Thatís some pretty creative layering/mixing

Damu is a Top 10 producers the last decade.

Luh this...

Ill check out this project. Never heard of Flex Matthews. Wish some brand name emcees would give Damu the time of day cause his boom bap game is fresh.

I love that thing they are doing - first 3-4 minutes you get a rap song and then as much as this, that some cool instrumental vibing with the same beat. I freakin hate that new school 2 minute songs and 30 minute "albums", so that old school approach of long ass songs is fresh.
Only thing bothering me - where's the CD link??

^glad you pencil dicks are feelin this!

i heard a bunch of production shit on this that had me laughing(in a good way). just so much detail and time put into it and i like the long tracks too. lots of scratchin and cuttin which is a breath of fresh air especially on a couple tracks where the Dj just cuts it up for like 2 min straight. why the hell not, its hip hop!
