Nas is the best to eva do it.

No other MC has been as consistent over this amount of time with this many GREAT (whether u kall em klassiks or not is personal preference, but u can't deny the greatness) albums!

Not Rakim, G Rap, KRS, Jay, Big, Kane, ANYBODY.

This is my assessment and I'm ACTUALLY looking for a reason(s) to change this assessment, but no one who I've discussed with has providing anything valid.

Discuss...

DMX >
Nas is ill but his albums aren't as solid as DMX's. Why you think he holds the record for most albums hitting platinum on release? The only thing you can argue is who you like more and that X has been in the game less years. Both have made wack songs.

I don't care to change your mind but I do disagree.

One point: Many of you including strong fans of Nas have said his live shows are not very good. How can you be considered the greatest MC of all time if you can't even move the crowd that loves you? I don't care about rehashing the argument about live shows in relation to albums again but the fact is, performing is one of the most important skills for an "MC".

One example of someone better, IMO:
Ice Cube. More better albums with more impact, style and better lyrics and production. All of his work was done independently from the beginning to this day. He shaped the trends that we see today and the mainstream changed to follow him, he never had to change his core up to follow anyone else or try to fit in. His live shows are great and he did more to help the hiphop industry as a whole as well as putting out new talent. He still makes great tracks that follow the formula he created from the start while Nas has definitley never made anything close to being as good as what he first put out and seems to be reaching to try to gain success while Cube is successful naturally. For those of you who base things off money and sales (stupid), he is one of the richest and most successful MC's of all time...again all independent.

Really no comparison if you break down the facts but again, I don't care if anyone wants to agree or not.

Stop trolling fagget.

Nas is up there, Top 5, but not the best.

And Nas > Jay-Z by a lot. Jay-Z has been pretty non-existent since The Black Album. American Gangster is the only semi-dope album he's dropped since.

life is good is not dope as fuck. thats giving way too much praise to it. its solid, at best. there is a lot of wackness on it. of 18 tracks i'd say 8 are worth listening to again. 4 are worth puncturing eardrums to never hear again. and 3 are decent and 3 i'd be happy if i never heard again but probably wouldnt even remember hearing.

No doubt i couldn't agree more. Listened to it a few times now and still stick with my original 6/10 rating. The ill tracks (Loco Motive, Accident Murderers, A Queens Story) are real fuckin ill but they are too far and few between. Too many slower songs/beats for my liking and that Swizz Beats track is down there with the Slaughterhouse/Cee Lo track in terms of the wackest shit i've heard this year.
