Emanon (Aloe Blacc & Exile) - DYSTOPIA

just got my vinyl copy...this album is flawless.

Also, it dropped digitally in 2016 but physicals didn't come out until 2017. Wiki says 2016 but Discogs says 2017.

Help a brotha out with the release date...I want to add this to my favorite albums of 2017.

I always feel like albums that drop in December get zero love on here since everyone is so concerned with their Best of 2016, Best of 2017 lists. Unfortunately, this album is one of those...

There was one thread...but The Fraudhim gets 33 threads this year alone (not even making that up)

Like I said, no love from UGHH. Here's the one thread about Dystopia...shout out to 88.

it's a 2016 project imo, just like RTJ3 even though physicals weren't released until this year.

definitely wouldn't say it was flawless but i thought it was alright. i think i listened to it 2 or 3 times then forgot about it. might have to revisit it sometime.

Post up a link or video where he says that...

My initial guess is he was on Interscope by then and Interscope said no. And at the end of the day...I could care less.

it was portrayed like he was too big to comment on his time at stones throw cuz it was tied into mayer hawthorne signing to a major after stones throw success and still staying friends with pb wolf. i cant find the vid.

yea tippi and hawthorne was in it a ton and didnt decline even tho he signed to a major. so that lil text bout aloe made me see it as he was too big for pb wolf and his doc.

From some quick search...

PBW started the beef when:

"ďHonestly, I was this close to not putting out [Good Things]. I didnít really like the album that much but I had signed him already. It got to a point where we put it out anyway.
ďThatís something that Iíve always struggled with because I donít want to be too involved with the artists where Iím trying to change the album but then, the Stones Throw logoís on the back. I want it to be something I buy in the store, and that record was right on the cusp where I might have bought it but probably not. But Iím thankful that it came out.
He added: ďStones Throw might not have been in business anymore had it not been for the success of Aloe Blacc.Ē

But Aloe did decline:

"Peanut Butter Wolf: When I called Aloe last year and asked him to be interviewed, he was very nice, but did decline, telling me he didnít wanna tell his story for the Stones Throw film because he is working on an Aloe Blacc documentary and wanted to save it for that."

No big deal...

I remember seeing that about Aloe in the documentary and being so disappointed with him. He didn't have to say much imo....but whatever.

I like his music (all genre's of it) but can't say if i'd watch his documentary
