The first case being a two headed dog that survived for three days and was the inspiration for heart transplanting. If aliens did come to mine the planet why wouldn't they create beings that could perform certain tasks IE: centaur. Who would be able to pull massive ropes and be able to take directions. Maybe the Egyptians actual depicted things they saw.
