but seriously fellas, I feel like I am a very happy relationship. and I will tell you how I keep it happy:
1. I am very happy alone. this is important because I didn't force a relationship just so I wasn't alone. it happened very organically and I took it very slow. which brings me to point 2
2. take things slow. there shouldn't be a rush to take everything to another level. that is insecure bullshit that doesn't come from a good place. if you only want your jump off to be your girl because you don't want other guys fucking her you have other problems that are preventing you from happiness. Moving in with someone is a huge mistake if it happens to early in a relationship. This is because it is logistically harder to break up with someone if you live with them, which is why a lot of people who live together get married and ultimately get divorced.
3. be accountable for everything that happens to you. this is important because in life we want to blame others for every bad thing that happens. and often we blame those closest to us, and that can end up being your girlfriend. If your girlfriend took an extra ten minutes to do her hair and so you're speeding to get to the movie on time and run over some old lady crossing the street, an asshole will blame his girlfriend for doing her hair too long. be happy your girl likes doing her hair instead.
4. actually like the person you're with. so many people are with people they genuinely dislike, but tell themselves they love. it makes so sense. stop being irrational and break up with this person.
5. avoid devils advocate. it's fun sometimes to disagree with people just to disagree. but it becomes a habit and it turns every conversation contentious. avoid contention.
6. don't be mean.
7. have lots of sex. if you aren't attracted any longer gtfo

Yeah 1 and 2 are the most important IMO.
Also titles like girlfriend and boyfriend cause issues.
Dont use them prematurely and avoid titles untill its fuckin obvious and doesnt need to be said. This is just because a title is pressure and responsibilities, and you should be just enjoying eachother. Thats it.
