I used to think that way, until I realized that it's all just "the game," if you made noises with your nose and called it underground hip-hop it wouldn't change the fact that you appeal to a miniscule demographic so what's the point? It's easy to open the lid on the box to look in if it means letting out a larger fanbase.

I'd rather lift people up to my level than lower myself down to them and make bullshit. Not hating, BUT I'd rather think about how my music will be viewed from the long view of history and NOT in the momentary analysis of skinny jeans or auto tunes or whatever bullshit hip hop has been perverted into. Seems like this boards are mostly backpacker shit anyway, which I don't really hate on. But the backpacker shit does not push the envelope of hip hop and is boring to me.Partial IP: 8.41.88.67 |
