Ok. So my Fireface 800 worked flawlessly with my old Imac, the previous generation dual core.

I sold that, and backed everything up via Time Machine, bought a new MacBook Pro 13" i5, and restored it to basically mirror my old iMac.

I plugged my Fireface800 in, but the Fireface settings and mixer would not open.

So I wiped my MBP and tried installing the drivers on a clean harddrive. Still nothing.

Then I noticed that my Firewire800 port was lose, so I took the unit to ARS repair shop in Canoga Park CA. They fixed the port, and tested the unit on both a PC and Mac. It works perfectly on all their computers.

I deleted any drivers or files from RME and Fireface on my Mac. Reinstalled the drivers. Then tried to update the firmware.

it STILL says that no device can be detected. I try and open the fireface settings and mixer, but nothing happens.

I am really getting frustrated now. I loved my Fireface unit before, but now it's collected dust.

Does anyone have any advice for me?

Thanks in advance.
