Considering three things (I produce, rap, and work on mixing down vocals/beats btw)

Interested in a laptop for producing and recording vocals on.

Beat machine - looking to make the chance from midi software to hardware. I have a mpd 32 Love it, but I want to venture off.

New Microphone. My current one is perception 220.

My budget is about 300-700. I thought a laptop would be useful because I usually have HOURS of downtown at my job and they allow us to do w/e during the down time so having a laptop at work would be pretty dope...especially working on music on the clock.

ever thought about the akai 2000xl or the 1000? Or maybe an sp1200? I have the maschine and honestly its too barebones for me, something like an mpc is the perfect add on to a studio in my mind. But thats just me. Always diggin.
