no. MPD is just a controller, not a sampler

an MPD is something you plug in to a computer via USB to control software like Ableton Live or FL Studio. An MPC is a machine you can load audio onto and play like a drum machine. so you want a dedicated machine or do you want something to control computer programs? keep in mind with a dedicated machine you'll need other stuff like a mixer and something to record the beats with.

you gotta use an MPD thru a computer program like Ableton or Logic

if you already have a computer, then getting an audio interface and an MPD is much cheaper than buying an MPC and a mixer, and it can do the exact same stuff

hahahaha I remember beginner questions like this! You have got to be a newbie to the game son! Mpd = no sounds just controller over other gear such as sound modules and software.. Mpc complete all in one production... Hence the big price difference between the two!
